Best way to be joyful is to secure your eternal salvation now!
Joy of Salvation
“O come, let us sing unto the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation.”
(Psalms 95:1 KJV)
Jesus is the Rock of our salvation. He is our strong foundation, unshakable and immovable. He is worthy to be praised. We can rejoice in the fact that He came to save us and has conquered death. We have the assurance that when we pass on from this life, we can spend eternity with Him. Our salvation is solid in Him, and no one can take it away from those whose faith is firmly embedded in Christ. There are so many occasions when I think about what Christ suffered through to save us, I could not help but cry with joy in my heart.
Just think of it friend, really if you close your eyes for just a few moments and imagine all the agony and pain and all the insults and reproach Jesus went through for you. All of that He willingly carried all the way to the cross, just to show you how much He loves you. It is absolutely amazing how a God of the universe would willingly suffer just so we could be forgiven from our sins and not have to spend eternity in hell, if we accept and believe what He did on the cross.
Are you saved?
If you are one of those who are still not sure if you are really saved or not, then this part you must pay attention. I remember an occasion when I was preaching the Word of God and one person was convicted by the message. He’s been going to church for many years and thought he was okay until he heard a non sugar coated message about salvation. He thought that doing good things around the church, and seeing fellow church goers Sunday after Sunday and eating meals together on special occasions, giving tithes and offerings would give him assurance that when he died he would go to heaven. Simply put he thought he could buy his way to heaven by good works.
But then he realized he was completely wrong, and right away did not wait too long to make it right with Jesus. He had me and my husband come to his house and wanted to talk to us. He was troubled and wanted to have assurance of salvation. We went to his house and had a long talk with him. He asked a lot of questions and we did our best to answer him. After the long talk he realized that he was not saved. He cried and asked us how he could make it right and start over again about his belief. My husband and I led him to the plan of salvation and in accordance with God’s Word after praying and asking God’s forgiveness, he accepted the whole truth and had Jesus come into His heart. When it was all over with, as he was still crying, he told my husband and I how much better he felt. The heavy weight had been lifted off his shoulders. Wow, what a relief that was for him and for me to know that he had secured his way to heaven. He later passed away, but I have no doubt that he will be joining with all of those who will be resurrected to spend eternity in heaven.
How about you friend, are you saved? Do you really know the way? If there is any doubt whatsoever, then don’t wait too long, make it right with Jesus. He is waiting for you.
Do you need help?
If you are doubtful and don’t know what to do, here is some help to clear the doubts away from your mind. The Bible says that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus. I can really understand if you are having doubts in believing this truth. I can understand why you are confused on what to believe. I’ve been there and it wasn’t easy for me to just make up my mind either.
The world offers so many different ways and beliefs on how to get to heaven. But none of them really gave me enough conviction until I had my personal encounter with God’s offer of salvation. It took a lot of searching in my heart on my part to arrive at the conclusion of accepting God’s offer to me.
I was always taught that whatever belief I was born into, that’s what I should die for. Unfortunately, a lot of the old traditional beliefs are mostly based on religion. And this is how I define religion “it is a practice of doing good works over and over again trying to please God. Nothing wrong with doing good work, but I have a little problem with it when it comes to salvation and how to get to heaven. So many of the traditional beliefs and traditions never prove anything of their gods being alive. In fact all of them are gods that cannot hear or speak and are worshiped by the living mankind. How can such gods even open the door for me in heaven? No friends, it should be the other way around. People should worship a living God who is powerful and mighty.
The Bible mentions in the book of Isaiah 64:6 KJV that “ we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away”. So right there it already kills it for me. There would not be enough good works for me to do to earn my way to heaven. Doing good work doesn’t get us to heaven. The reason why is that we are still of our carnal (sinful nature). God sees our sinful ways too. And the only way for God to declare us righteous is by erasing all our sins by the washing of a blood by a perfect sacrifice without sin or blemish. If you have not read already, please check my other book titled “I Am Coming Back Soon” (page 23). It is about this topic on how we are atoned for our sins through blood sacrifice.
Now God in His mercy has provided for us the perfect sacrifice. And through the sacrifice and blood of Jesus that was poured out for us on the cross is the only way that we can be forgiven and accepted into heaven. Acts 4:10;12 KJV says “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by Him doth this man stand here before you whole. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” In this passage the disciples were convinced that the greatest need of every individual was salvation from sin and the wrath of God, and they preached that this need could be met by no one other than the person of Jesus Christ.
This truth reveals the exclusive nature of the gospel and the church’s heavy responsibility of preaching the gospel to every person. If there were other ways of salvation, the church could be at ease. But according to the Lord Jesus Himself in (John 14:6 KJV- “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”), there is no hope for anyone apart from salvation through Him.
Jesus emphatically taught that carrying out the will of His heavenly Father was a condition of entering the kingdom of heaven. In Matthew 7:21 KJV says – “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” However, this does not mean that we can gain or merit our salvation by our own efforts or works.
This is true for the following reasons:
- God’s forgiveness comes to us through faith and repentance made possible by the grace and sacrificial death of Christ.
- The obedience to God’s will demanded by Christ is indeed an ongoing condition for salvation, but Christ also declares that it is a grace belonging to the salvation of the kingdom. As such we must continually pray for it, receive it and put it into effect by sincere faith and earnest endeavor. Note the Lord’s Prayer in (Matthew 6:9-13) and the many admonitions directed toward believers to put sin to death and to present themselves to God as living sacrifices.
- We are capable of doing God’s will and living righteous lives by virtue of this gift, in other words, God’s grace, power and spiritual life continually given to us through Christ. Scripture declares that “by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God…For we are God’s workmanship” Ephesians 2:8-10 NIV.
- God’s grace always makes possible the obedience He demands of us. It is ascribed to God’s redemptive action. “For it is God who worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure” Philippians 2:13 KJV. Yet God’s grace does not annul human responsibility or action. We must respond to God’s gift of obedience.
So now that you know what the Word of God says, it is now up to you to make the right decision. Salvation is offered to all, and God is waiting for everyone to respond. Will you respond and accept God’s offer of salvation through Christ? I hope you will, my friend. And when you do, I guarantee you that thousands of angels with God in heaven are rejoicing over your decision. God loves you so much that all He wants is for you to be with Him in heaven. Are you ready to meet Jesus one of these days? I hope you are my friend, I am so happy for you. I look forward to meeting you someday in that beautiful glorious city of God!
Rejoice for Eternity
The huge part of being saved is knowing that we have a personal relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ. We are bought and made righteous by the blood of Jesus. Yes we will still make mistakes, but God sees the blood of Jesus and forgives us. And because of what Jesus did on the cross for us, we can rejoice knowing that we have been adopted back into God’s kingdom after receiving Him.
Here is another promise from the Word of God in Luke 10:20 KJV- “Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.” In this passage Christ warns His disciples that they must not make power over demons or success in ministry the primary source of their joy. Their rejoicing must come from the fact that they are redeemed from sin and destined for heaven. This is indeed a great reason to rejoice for eternity.
We can trust and keep these promises of God in our hearts. God is faithful in His promises, and He will fulfill them. So now that we have been set free from our sin through the Lord Jesus, we need to set our hearts and minds on the things above. We all know that we are all going to die one of these days. So it is reasonable to look ahead and set our minds and hearts on eternal things.
In the book of Colossians 3:1-4 KJV it says: “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.”
Because our lives are in Christ who is seated in heaven, we must set our minds on and let our attitudes be determined by things above. We must view and evaluate everything from an eternal and heavenly perspective. Our goals and pursuits should center in Christ Jesus, including resisting sin and being clothed with Christ’s life and character. Spiritual graces, power, experiences and blessings are all with Christ in heaven. He bestows these things on all who sincerely and diligently pursue Him with all their heart.
I am looking forward to the day when I see Jesus face to face in heaven. Just imagine, we will be spending eternal life with Him. We will be in a place where no more pain, sorrows, chaos and violence. It will be a place of rejoicing, singing, worshipping God and enjoying all the beauties that there is in heaven. Some people would say that heaven will be a boring place. Not so my friend. I have seen so many dreams about heaven and I must say that it is a beautiful place and full of God’s glory. There will be no more darkness there, because God’s glory is shining all the time.
Imagine living in heaven, the city of God with the wall made of jasper, and of pure gold, as pure as glass. A place decorated with every kind of precious stone and pearls (Revelation 21). Heaven is a place where God’s blessings are flowing abundantly. There will be no shortage of food or water. No longer will there be any curse, (Revelation 22). The Bible is so clear in telling us what heaven will be for us who accepted God’s gift of eternal life through Jesus. Are you ready? Are you looking forward to going there too? Well my friend it is certainly worth rejoicing now as we wait for God to take us to our heavenly home. And because of these promises we can have an unspeakable joy and peace going through this life.
