How to Gain Confidence

How to gain confidence? Who would have thought that being very timid as a kid; I would end up speaking in public? My childhood was really a tough one. I suffered so much emotional distress that I even attempted to kill myself a few times. I thank God that He was always with me and rescued me every time I tried to harm myself. Growing up as a child I was really so shy, so naive and so innocent. When I would go to the store to buy something I would not hardly say anything until the store owner would ask me. I was too shy not only in terms of speaking, but also looking people in the eye. I seldom associated myself with other kids, except with my cousins and brother.

Timid and shy to even look at people in the eye

So when I got called from God and enrolled in Bible College, I realized then that I would not only be studying the Bible and that I would also be trained, and be speaking in public. At first I was so afraid. In fact, it was terrifying for me that my knees were literally shaking when I was standing in front of people. The transformation did not take place overnight. It took a lot of adjustment on my attitude, disposition and God’s grace to mold me into the person that God wanted me to be. I am the clay, molded into a vessel, to serve the purpose of the Master.

God is the Potter we are the clay. We can all be molded to serve the purpose of God.

The training was intense. Speaking in public took a lot of guts and focusing on God. Part of the training was boarding a public bus and preaching to the passengers. Some other times, I preached at the public parks and other times in churches when invited. My confidence got stronger every time as I continued to walk and trust God every step of the way. God has changed me from that timid, shy person to what I am now. It does not mean that I do not get nervous every once in a while, but it surely is not what I used to be. I can now get up and speak publicly without any hesitation or fear. And I can now also look people straight in the eye.

We can be confident in God. He can transform lives.

During my study and training in Bible College, the ministry of teaching and helping children got started. It involves poor children living in poor conditions. The vision of tadpoles I saw is now being realized in front of my very own eyes. Those tadpoles were symbolic of the unborn babies that I would have to minister to and help once I graduated from the Bible College. To this day, my life is pretty much involved around helping the poor children and their families.

You see, never underestimate the power of God to transform your life from whatever it may be to something that God can use and do great things for His glory and His kingdom. You may be going through some kind of low self-esteem, or maybe it is a weakness that you know on your own you can not change alone.

You need the power of God to do it for you. And it will cost you a total surrender to the will of God and allowing Him to fulfill His purpose in your life.

God will not kick the door of your heart, you have to open it from the inside and allow Him to work through your life.

There is nothing to fear or worry about in surrendering your life to God. He really wants the best for you, because He loves you. You just need to have a willing heart to be molded into that vessel that God can use to glorify His name.

Your willingness to be transformed will result into a beautiful masterpiece for the glory of God.

Write down those weaknesses and problems that you may have and surrender it to God. And allow Him to turn those things into a beautiful masterpiece, a vessel that will bring honor and glory to Him. God is still performing miracles every day for us to see and experience. The miracles are shown to save us from what and who we were in the past to a new person, free from the bondage of sin and shame.

Today may just be the day that you have been waiting to be free from all the things that are holding you back. Or it could be all the unforgiveness, and hate in your heart that has entangled you for so long that you are tired of dealing with it. Give it to the Lord Jesus! That was the reason why He came, to free you and save you from all the sin, shame, unforgiveness, hate, pain and suffering. His death on the cross was a miracle in itself. He did not stay in the tomb. He arose again from the grave so that we can have hope in Him. The decision you make today can have an everlasting impact on all those around you. Let God turn your weaknesses into a miraculous transformation for His glory!!!

I am an ordained minister who is doing missionary work for over 15 years now. I was born in one of the island in the Philippines called Cebu. Growing up in a poor condition, I managed to overcome the hurdles of life with a positive attitude, grateful for everything and most of all by the grace of God. I have always challenge myself to do better with my life at a young age and pursue my dreams and ambitions in life by working hard and never complains about the hardships I went through. I have become successful in so many ways that I want to share my life's journey and how I can help you improve your life and reach your goals to a height of success. You can't imagine now how much you can really do if you just have a positive outlook of life and have the attitude of being grateful in every circumstance.
