Why is water so important? Have you ever tried to cure or at least minimize some sickness just by drinking a lot of water? This is my experience and I am very happy to share it with you.
First of, I want to share my long time battle of migraine since I was a child. It affected so many events of my life. There were many times when I literally wanted to die due to so much pain. It would be great if you can afford to buy medicine but what if you couldn’t? Well that’s exactly what happened to me. Growing up so poor there was no way to afford to buy, not even hardly for food. So I suffered all those years with intense pain and not much glimmer of hope. I continue to suffer even after I got married. Thankfully my husband has been so understanding and supportive and tried his best to get me some help medically.
The doctor had me do a food diary. I simply write down a list of food I eat and figure out what are the triggers for migraines. A lot of the food especially with high sugar content and starch would always trigger the migraines for me. In addition to it a lot of the processed food with preservatives is a big no for me. The same thing with drinks, if there’s too much sugar content in it I sure would suffer migraines afterwards. So I avoid eating those kind of food and drinks. Even though those modifications on my eating habit help a lot but still I suffered from migraines quite often. Not until recently within the last few weeks that I have finally realized that the cure to my long time battle of migraine is by drinking a lot of water. Yes, just by simply drinking a lot of water everyday that my migraine headaches are gone.
Maybe you think you are drinking enough water everyday, but is it really enough? How much water should you drink everyday? The answer according to The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is: About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men. About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women. I want to encourage this because since I started drinking a lot more water I have not have any migraine attacks everyday. In fact it’s been over two weeks straight that I am migraine free! There is another factor to this also, since I have been drinking a lot of water, my energy has been unusually high. I don’t get tired easily and even with heavy work around the house, I feel really great.
Our bodies is up to 60% of the human adult body is water. According to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry 158, the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water. The skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and even the bones are watery: 31%. So as you can imagine no wonder how much water plays an important role in our bodies. Just think of the brain and heart composed or 73% water, it will really do a great deal to drink a lot of water to have a better mood.
I’m sure there is so much to discover and what all the water will do to cure other health problems. For now I am sharing my experience because it really works for me. I also shared this experience to my friends and I am very hopeful that it will help you also. I must say that I drink a glass of water first thing in the morning as soon as I get up. And then I just keep mindful of when to take another glass again throughout the day. The only thing that will be uncomfortable a bit is having to go to the bathroom more often which is a good thing as it is flushing out those toxins out of your body.
I hope that this experience will be an encouragement to you and let me know if you have tried it and what it did to help you. I almost forgot to mention, drinking a lot of water will give you a glowing skin as well and will keep it looking young. So it is really a winner!
